clark's ear
just got back from the ENT (ear, nose, & throat) specialist & clark is in a "gray area" as far as having tubes put in his ears. he's had enough infections in a year to warrant them & because he continues to never fully get the fluid off his ear then he's a candidate. he is still hearing 80% out of the left ear (the one giving him problems). dr burkett wants to give him augmentin one more time (a 10 day regimen) & then in another 10 days after that see him again & then make the decision based on the amount of fluid in the ear at that time. so we're gonna play the waiting game one more time. he did say that if they do it, then tubes need to be put in both ears because in almost all cases, the ear that might not have given much/any trouble will start to have infections & it's best to just do them together rather than have to go in & do the other one at a separate time. so will know something by the end of september after he goes back. wish we had more news but dr burkett wants to be sure that he really should have them.
